# The Transformative Power of the Sacrifice of Praise
## A Daily Commitment to Scripture
My husband and I have been reading from the Holy Word (The Bible) every day since January 1st of this year. I cannot tell you what a change it has made in our lives. Every day, we take turns reading the scripture for the day. I cannot believe we are almost done with the whole Book.
Yesterday, we read from Psalms, Hebrews, and Ezekiel. Both scriptures from Psalms and Hebrews mentioned the sacrifice of praise. It really stood out to me. Sometimes it feels like a sacrifice. Other times, it does not. It all depends on what is happening in our lives.
If we are having a bad day, then it seems more like a sacrifice. But we always come out on the other side better off mentally and spiritually. Offering up our sacrifice of praise and worship is a continual process. It shows God our deep love for Him, regardless of what is going on around us.
## Gratitude During Thanksgiving
During this Thanksgiving, I feel so blessed to still be living on this earth. I thank God for the little things: clean water, electricity, and food. The basics matter. Everything else is just icing on the cake. But we have the cake, and that is what counts. When we have Christ, we have everything we need to make it in the world today.
I really hope that everyone has a most blessed Thanksgiving in 2025. Make it memorable. May we all show love to everyone, even those we do not completely agree with. To know Him is a blessing beyond compare. It is a miracle in itself.
## The Scriptural Foundation of Praise
Hebrews 13:15 calls believers to offer a continual "sacrifice of praise." Psalm 50:23 states, "Whoever offers praise glorifies Me." Other relevant verses include 1 Peter 2:5 and 2:9, which discuss a "spiritual house" and a "royal priesthood" offering "spiritual sacrifices." Psalm 107:22 encourages the offering of "sacrifices of thanksgiving."
## Benefits of the Sacrifice of Praise
The benefits of the sacrifice of praise are numerous. They include strengthening faith, honoring God, and seeing spiritual and emotional healing. Praising God even in difficult times can shift your perspective. It can bring His presence into a situation and lead to breakthroughs. This practice can change the atmosphere, bring joy, and serve as a "superpower" for believers.
Strengthens Faith
Praising God in hard times reinforces belief in His goodness and power. It helps grow faith and trust.
Shifts Perspective
Praise helps shift focus from circumstances to God. This gives a greater sense of control and His perspective on situations.
Invites God's Presence
By giving praise, we honor God. This is believed to bring His presence into our lives, where there is "fullness of joy."
Promotes Emotional and Spiritual Healing
The act of praising can lead to emotional, mental, and spiritual healing. It can improve self-image by reducing pride and ego.
Changes the Atmosphere
Praising can change the atmosphere around us. It transforms disappointment and confusion into joy and victory.
Empowers Spiritual Warfare
In a spiritual context, praise is a weapon. It can silence accusers, break chains, and open doors.
Impacts Others
The sacrifice of praise can inspire others. Witnessing it can lead them to believe in the power of God. This was seen when the Philippian jailer was amazed by Paul and Silas's response and converted to Christianity.
## Conclusion
God richly bless you and all you come in contact with during this season.
