After nearly thirty years, I’m finally ready to share something very close to my heart.In 1996, while preparing my heart for Resurrection Sunday, I sat alone meditating on the cross—what it must have truly been like for our Lord in those final hours, and the finished work He accomplished there. In a moment I will never forget, the song “Calvary Covers It All” came to me like a download straight from Heaven. The words and melody flowed so freely that I cried and cried as I wrote them down. It wasn’t just songwriting—it was a holy encounter. The presence of God was so real in the room that day.
Even now, decades later, I can still feel the weight and the wonder of that moment.For all these years, I’ve carried this song in my heart. I always knew it wasn’t quite ready—I wanted it to sound exactly the way I heard it that day in 1996. Now, after all this time, it is finally complete. Why I’m Releasing It Now
I’m getting older, and like many of you, I’ve been thinking more about how much time we really have left in this life. I didn’t want to leave this earth without releasing this song. I believe God gave it to me not just for me, but for others who need to hear it—especially in these times when so many are carrying burdens they were never meant to carry alone.If you’ve ever felt unworthy, overwhelmed, or distant from God, this song is for you. If you’ve been holding onto regret or shame from your past, I pray these words will help you lay it all down at the foot of the cross.
